Dr. Sarah Louise MacMillen is Associate Professor of Sociology at Duquesne University, where she also directs the minor in Peace, Justice and Conflict Resolution. She is the author of Literature in the Dawn of Sociological Theory: Stories that are Telling (Lexington 2021) and is co-author (with George Lundskow) of Q-Anon and Other Replacement Realities (Lexington 2023) and (with David Yamane) of Real Stories of Christian Initiation: Lessons for and from the RCIA (Liturgical Press 2006), and is the editor of Survey of Sociology: From Hobbes to Hip-Hop (Cognella 2020). MacMillen earned a B.A. from Boston University (Classics & Religion), and completed her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Sociology from the University of Notre Dame.
Though primarily a social theorist, MacMillen’s interests cross over into theology, philosophy, and literature. Her essays have appeared in Crosscurrents, The Journal of Public and Professional Sociology, The Journal of Religion and Society, Philosophy and Theology, The Journal of Religion, Conflict and Peace, and other venues.
